Be
sure to see this powerful Emmy
Award Winning HBO movie which is now out on DVD!
This movie is based on the
ground-breaking book by Dee Brown, Bury
My Heart at Wounded Knee.
It tells the story of the Lakota Sioux of struggle to survive between
the year 1876 and 1890. Adam
Beach portrays Ohiyesa-Charles Eastman, who the story centers
around. Anna Paquin, winner of
an Academy Award for The Piano,
portrays Elaine Goodale, who was a staunch advocate for the
rights of American Indian people. She eventually married Charles
Eastman. August Schellenberg
portrays Tatanka Iyotanka-Sitting Bull, and is phenomenal in the
role. Aiden Quinn (Legends of
the Fall) portrays Senator Henry Dawes, convincingly we might
add. Gordon Tootoosis delivers
a powerful portrayal of Mahpiya Luta-Red Cloud. And Eric Schweig
is superb as Gall. Other
great notable actors are: Wes Studi, Nathan Chasing Horse, J.K.
Simmons and Colm Feore.
John Two-Hawks was humbled and honored to be able to include his
musical interpretation
with this epic, tragic and powerfully true story of his people, the
Oglala Lakota Sioux.
John also offers his humble
thanks to the amazing film score composer, George Clinton.
George is a genius composer, a
music pioneer and visionary, and a friend and brother.
